Sleeping Dogs

Roy Freeman, an ex-homicide detective with a fractured memory, is forced to revisit a case he can't remember. As a man's life hangs in the balance on death row, Freeman must piece together the brutal evidence from a decade-old murder investigation, uncovering a sinister web of buried secrets and betrayals linking to his past. With only instincts to trust, he faces a chilling truth - sometimes, it's best to let sleeping dogs lie.
The twists and turns were interesting. Crowe and the rest of the cast deliver a thriller, who dun it, almost took a Hitchcock level. There's a could of slow points, and the last segment could've been drawn out with a little more explanation of how the Baines character knew Roy and given more depth to that manipulation. There's no doubt the psychology behind the manipulations presented here, but those things take time to cultivate and there's little about that here. I'm not sure it would've made it better worse or not, but it felt like that being the premise of the film like there should've been more than just a grad assistant stealing work.
9/10. worthy of a movie night in
