The Hills Have Eyes

Based on Wes Craven's 1977 suspenseful cult classic, The Hills Have Eyes is the story of a family road trip that goes terrifyingly awry when the travelers become stranded in a government atomic zone. Miles from nowhere, the Carter family soon realizes the seemingly uninhabited wasteland is actually the breeding ground of a blood-thirsty mutant family...and they are the prey.

Excellent Horror/Thriller/Gore movie, similar to the movies in the Wrong Turn movie series. A must watch if you are a fan of the genre. I found out that this is a reboot of a 70’s original and there’s a sequel after this movie.

I’m not sure what some of the people here who got offended by this movie were expecting. This isn’t Frozen. I can assure you that. 😂

This film is beautifully brutal. I remember first watching this when it came out, I was 11 or 12 and it was so unsettling I had to turn it off and muster up the willpower to resume later. About 16 years later and this is still an incredibly unsettling movie, possibly the most unsettling movie I’ve ever seen. It’s a revenge flick that truly makes you feel the weight of why revenge has to happen. However, this will surely turn some people away. If you are a Wes Craven fan, a fan of the original, or like brutal horror movies, you should check this one out…but don’t say I didn’t warn you about that scene.

Very brutal and scary horror flick about a family of 7 (the Carters) led to a death trap in an abandoned US nuclear testing facility. Hunted by a flock of mutated and cannibalistic monsters / humans, the Carters have to fight for their lives. When the mutants kidnap Doug's baby, he tries to track the baby down and turns berserk on every mutant. The only bad thing about this film is the annoying stupidity of the family members: in every other horror film (and in real life) they would have died after the first 20 minutes!

Alexandre Aja's remake of Wes Craven's classic "the Hills Have Eyes" is good. It follows the original for the first 2/3 of the movie and than it goes its own way. The action is brutal, there is loads of gore, a bird's head being ripped off and the blood squeezed out into Lizard's mouth (that is a scene I won't forget soon), dogs running away all the time, that crater with all those vehicles looked epic, the atomic test site town looked like a level out of Modern Warfare 2, Claire from Lost! Suicide by shotgun, the gore looked great in that scene! And we have an open ending, I bet that will be the moment were part 2 starts!

Anyway, this remake looks good, Alexandre Aja knows how to shoot a good looking film, the mutants look great, the story is straight forward and it'll entertain you for 107 minutes or so. This is a remake I can recommend to watch!
