One of my favourite childhood movies. Lindsay Lohan does a great job of playing both main parts and you can always tell which one she's playing, even when she swaps because of their distinct personality traits. Very funny movie.

This film may just sit on my absolute favourite lists. The jazzy score, the fun locations, even the editing adds to the bouncing, playful story. Lohan is incredible in her dual roles and it actually upsets me how she hasn't gone far enough in her career since (thinking about what she could have been). Cheesy as hell at times but it feels so right. Pure late 90s, childhood nostalgia. I love Chessy.

The perfect nostalgic summer movie! Lindsey Lohan shines in her roles as both Annie and Hallie. The story itself is fun; with two girls meeting at camp and figuring out that they are twin sisters. Upon returning home after camp, the twins decide to switch places so they can meet the parent they never knew. The underlying reason as to why they were separated is pretty silly and absurd, but if you don’t take it too seriously it’s definitely a good time! This is easily one of my new comfort watches.

One of the newest trends on Twitter is to add the word "comfort" in front of several things. While "comfort food" has been going on since forever, we now have "comfort TV Shows," "Comfort Character" or "Comfort Movies."

I don’t use that term very often. But even I have to admit there are certain films that bring me comfort when I‘m feeling down or just need a good time to relax. This is one of them.

Base on Erich Kästner‘s book "Das Doppelte Lottchen" and a remake of the 1961 version, This film tells the story of twins Hallie and Annie (Lindsay Lohan) who were separated at birth after their parents' divorce. Hallie grew up with her father (Dennis Quaid) in California and Annie with her mother (Natasha Richardson) in London, never knowing the other existed. That until they meet by chance in a summer camp. After initial hostility they discover the truth and decide to trade places, to not only get to know their other parent, but also scheme to reunite them and become a family again.

I don’t think I have seen the Version from the 60s and the only other adaptation I‘m familiar with is a German one from the 90s but I prefer this one by a long shot.

It’s one of these movies I grew up on and have seen so many times I can probably speak along. It’s still an absolute delight to watch. It’s funny, without trying too hard, well acted (young Lindsay Lohan is fantastic in her double role) and has so much heart.

It’s one of those films I can always put on and enjoy over and over again.

Truly a great family movie. Lindsay Lohan's performance really carries the movie. it captures everything great about the 90s. The runtime could have been 30 minutes shorter tho.

Entertaining and sweet. Just as good as the 1961 original, which probably edges this ever so slightly but they are both terrific films.

1998's 'The Parent Trap' features Lindsay Lohan in the dual role, she is excellent as Hallie and Annie - Hayley Mills from '61 would be my pick as the sisters, but again it's a tremendous piece of casting.

It's also a tight call between the parents, with Dennis Quaid (Nick) and Natasha Richardson (Liz) in those roles here - they have believable chemistry, which is key. Elsewhere in this '98 remake, Elaine Hendrix (Meredith) and Lisa Ann Walter (Chessy) are good.

The camera work et al. is impressive. Though, just like the first film, the run time could probably have been shorter. Not that that's a big negative, as this film is very much enjoyable to watch. Recommended.

Haven't seen the 1961 original in many years, but this certainly compares favorably. Lindsay Lohan is lovely. Wasn't expecting to get so emotional—something about family and belonging. I cried at every hug.

Shoutout to Patrick Tomaso on YouTube for pointing out the wonderful cinematography in this 90's kids' movie. We didn't know how good we had it.

Definitely need to try Oreos and peanut butter.
