i read and loved the book. never watched the Chinese version.netflix one is very promising after 2 episodes. i enjoyed it a lot. the book maybe slow paced at times, the series adaptation is really good. worth the wait.
One of the most best sci-fi I've watched ever. I usually do not watch sci-fi but this one is something else, specially I love visuals. If you're a sci-fi fan then you can't miss this one.
It's brilliant. I don't care how the books, or the Chinese version are, this is amazing. It's well done, it's clever, it's different, it's entertaining, it's intriguing. The only negative is... I WANT THE REST.... yesterday!
The most amazing Sci-fi tv show I have seen, ever. The only people trashing this fantastic show, are book readers who are expecting a faithful to the t adaptation. That is not feasible.
The other ones having a moan, are the ones who have a problem with diversity.

I really liked this show, hope we will see more seasons. A great sci-fi thriller
Good enough to make me buy 3 huge books and continue reading. I don't really like reading. Also the original plot in the books is mainly in China, with a lot of chinese names that confuse my western oriented brain. Often I have problems remembering who is who and who is related to each other. Yet I still read on because the story is great and wait for new episodes is long.
If you love science, don't miss this. If you prefer fast cars and flat dialogs, stay away from it.
As someone who had heard about The Three-Body Problem through the reputation of Liu Cixin’s original novels, I went into this series with cautious optimism. Adapting hard sci-fi is never easy—especially something as complex and philosophical as this—but I was genuinely impressed by how well the show introduces its world. While it only scratches the surface of the deeper ideas from the books, what it delivers is a gripping and accessible start to something potentially extraordinary.
From the very first episode, it’s clear this isn’t your average sci-fi series. The pacing is deliberate, the tone is serious, and the stakes feel immense. The show weaves between timelines, perspectives, and scientific concepts with a confidence that’s admirable. It respects the intelligence of its audience while still making the dense material digestible.
The core premise—that humanity may not be alone, and that the universe is not a friendly place—is handled with the right amount of awe and dread. It captures the idea that the cosmos is a "dark forest," where revealing your presence could mean extinction. That concept alone sets 3 Body Problem apart from so many other first-contact stories. Instead of optimism, it leans into cosmic fear—something refreshingly different.
The production quality is top-notch, with strong visuals, atmospheric music, and a grounded sense of realism even amid increasingly strange occurrences. The mystery surrounding the disappearance of scientists, the strange countdowns, and the enigmatic virtual world all build a tense, layered narrative that leaves you wanting more.
Yes, the show only hints at the larger scope of the story—but it does so in a way that feels promising rather than incomplete. If this is just the beginning, then we’re in for something truly special.
Thoughtful, bold, and chilling. 10/10.
Phenomenal!
Can’t wait for season 2.
Looking forward to the next season
