Night Sky

Excellent series. Enjoyed the character studies, the performances, particularly from Spacek and Simmons, and the sci-fi twists. It is a tragedy that Amazon pulled the plug so quickly. The last couple of episodes introduced additional mysteries and characters that I would have loved to explore in subsequent seasons. The cancelation is a real disappointment.

I watched this back in December of last year but somehow forgot to write a review. It was a fantastically unique story, with heart, stellar performances and wistful drama. It is solidly in the Fantasy/SciFi genres, but it is also a lovely love story. It was a shame it wasn’t renewed for there would have been so much more to explore but the story arc for the first season was completed. I gave it a 9 (beautiful) out of 10. My husband and I loved this series. Really disappointed it got cancelled.

It's not easy to describe this without giving away spoilers so excuse me if I'm sometimes vague. This is a mystery-drama. You get that 1 WTF moment in the pilot and each episode you learn something more about it. To fill in the episodes they use truckloads of drama. 5 main characters in the main story and 2 characters in the side story.

Simmons does an excellent job in the mystery department and is very strong supporting the drama where Spacek rules. Both maybe give us one of their top 5 best performances ever. The supporting actors also win you over in a way that even the very tough topics like growing old and dependent, depression and family bonds get mixed in without it becoming a downer for the viewer.

The writing is excellent and keeps you guessing, it hints but then turns out different as you expected without losing credibility. Of course you'll have to suspend reality a bit for the mystery aspect but the show respects the rules it sets.

Because of the pace and the chosen topics I don't think this will score with teenagers but people with some life experience will be able to relate much better. You've seen shows like this before but never with this quality of writing or acting.

Another good show cancelled,the potential with this was great.What a crying shame.

Whoa. I was hooked even though it can be slow at times (I prefer that over mindless action any time). It takes time to slowly unfold the story while giving you time to get to know the characters, but I wasn't bored even for one second. Acting - superb, didn't expect less from the main actors. I don't want to give too much away, just watch it, not your usual action packed sci-fi/fantasy though.

Woah! It takes 5 episodes to understand what is the core of the show. Don't let you be bored quickly until then.

What a sad thing that the series was canceled. I think it's an absolutely great series with a great story. The speed as the story was told was totally fine. The mix of drama/family history, mystery and suspense was great. I would have liked to know more and how it goes on, but unfortunately we will never. All just because the ratings didn't get right, because no one takes time anymore, everything just has to go fast in a series, what nonsense. It could have been such a top series, it would have only needed time, sometimes something has to build up first. But no matter, now we have to enjoy the 8 episodes.

Great show! One more episode to watch and can’t wait! It’s tense, intriguing and slow at the same time. The more episodes you watch the more you’re drawn into the story.
