Watched this last year and since it's already available in netflix ph I'm planning to rewatch. Jehoon honestly deserves a daesang for this role.

ps. i heard that season 2 is coming!

PLOT

The show depicts the reality of the justice system and offers satisfying revenge in each saga .. Forced Labour , Assaults & Bullying, Voice Phishing , Pornography and Human Trafficking . This show gives satisfaction at the end of each saga instead of waiting for 8 weeks to see the justice met.


CAST

Lee Je-Hoon as KIm Do Ki was marvellous he switched b/w his base angry , hurt and sad taxi driver to cunning , jovious and deceptive avenger for his client ; he carried their pain and delivered the justice to his best.

Kang Ha Na , an upright prosecutor who believe in the system and to some people she might be annoying but here role and principles were fully justified ; [spoiler] as she experience more injustice she starts wavering and finally becomes a member of the service [/spoiler]

Pyo Ye-Jin , who replaced Lee Na Eun , as Go Eun has done great justice to such an tragic and emotional character under the facade of an lively teen .

Remaining Taxi Members were always screwing up but were all wonderful in their roles

After Vincenzo , Taxi Driver has the best OST of the year yet !! "SILENCE" by YB " A Walk " by Pyo Ye-JIn herself and "RUN AWAY" by Simon Dominic are my favourites.

VERDICT

If there was no Vincenzo ; taxi driver would have the best show of the Spring 2021. Despite the excellent story writing and breathing taking action scenes ; the show does suffer from very few Kdrama troupes .

Special mention to cinematography and the screen editing. The background themes and the songs that give you goosebumps, uff! Fabulous direction, coordinated and well organized script. A bit disappointed with the endless product placements in the last 10 minutes.

Also while fighting crimes the taxi drivers essentially become criminals themselves [spoiler] they were too easily let go and in the end they looked like doing a reformed justice by involving a prosecutor [/spoiler] and hopefully not breaking any more laws as that message needs to be carried ; otherwise revenge can get out-of-control

The buttkicking scenes from Lee Je Hoon and also his all around personality his character were my favorite. But also the realness of cases that were presented in this drama as well.Let me just end this off with my favorite quote of this drama.
>"Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good"

One of the best kdramas of 2023. It's so satisfying to watch bad guys get beaten up and see victims feel some peace....

This is a pretty satisfying watch. It's brutal in the depictions of the crimes and very focused on the emotions and traumas endured by the family members that were affected so I wouldn't recommend it to people who could possibly get triggered.

Overall, although the show has a straightforward story, it has a great a cast, good chemistry between actors and amazing action scenes. The car chases are particularly advanced for a TV series. The plot addresses the pitfalls of both the judicial system and vigilantism while holistically portraying the different ways people pursue their versions of justice and revenge. Personally, I enjoyed the series and I'd love to watch it again in the future

Watched it for lee je-hoon, stayed for the well-written characters and the amazing storyline.
Even though that it's a very brutal drama, it still makes you feel good In every episode. Very good drama, probably the best one in 2021!

Pretty based show, good watch.
