From the first episode i've loved this show...

Nautilus (2024) - ❤x8

I have no idea why Disney dumped the show. It is really good! I wish it could have continued. It would have made for a great long-running show. The characters have depth and are interesting, and the individual stories are fun, and exciting, and fantastical as well.
...and I think I'm in love with Céline Menville (Loti) :)

Thoroughly enjoyed, I understand why it’s not for everyone so it if I don’t get a second season I’ll be pissed but understand. But we still have a few unanswered questions

Taking as its main element the origin of Captain Nemo that Jules Verne revealed in "The Mysterious Island" (1874), this series shares with "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" (1870) the different origins of its crew, a mix of nationalities that today would be described as "inclusive", but which already offered from its conception a heterogeneous view of the coexistence between different cultures and religions. The series cleverly takes advantage of this multiculturalism to show how imperialism spread in a cruel way. But at the same time it is an entertainment that works by accumulation, although it is not at the technical level that it should be.

What a bore-fest. I lasted 3 episodes.

I had to stop watching during the third episode. The first episode hooked me into the story. The second was slow but I continued on. Watching the third episode, it became apparent that the writing is sloppy and elementary. It felt like the writers came up with a scene or dilemma, and then came up with an easy way to get to that point. It took the tension & surprise away from the experience. It’s too bad as I was excited for the visuals, action and adventure. I wish I could look past lazy writing like I used to lol.
