Quick comment; absolutely loved Season 1, zero complaints. However, season 2 was a huge let down, with a lazy ending. I really don’t understand why they took the direction they did in S2, it’s as though it was someone completely different writing, who didn’t really have much interest. Rating 9 for S1 and only a 6 for S2. Such a shame. 😳

I will add, the show could be quite disturbing to some especially season 1, given the huge references of the horrific events by unit 731. However, I believe it’s important not to forget; hopefully to ensure such atrocities never occur again, to give a voice to the victims to tell their stories and so they will never be forgotten.

A very good show. Action, intrigue, monsters, love, murder and brutality from the occupation forces. It's well worth a watch, looking forward to season 2. Some unexpected developments from the last episode need to be answered. 🤔 :thumbsup_tone1:

Westworld vibes with
time skip and sinister evil organization
I liked the juxtaposition between seriousness and comedy - between the creature and the festivities of Incheon. Also the Japanese Unit 731 references. I thought there were some really bad moments - like 3 elite fighters struggling with 1 normal soldier. And also the extended dialogue in high adrenaline moments (nobody has time to have a heartfelt conversation when you have bullets flying above you).

Gyeongseong Creature (2023) - ❤x8

I would categorize this primarily as a Love Story and all the other genres are secondary.

The non-romance storyline was a slow-burn and very good. Despite the monster stuff, this is actually quite a heartwarming story (1st season at least - haven't watched 2nd season yet).

... and those air vents in the hospital/research facility are insanely huge....

Update (Season 2):
They completely dismantled the semi-happy ending of season 1 - unforgivable! 2nd season lacked all the warmth and heart of season 1.
The best part of season 2 was
watching Myeong-ja die - hopefully forever
.

How I rate:
1-3 ❤ = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6 ❤ = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8 ❤ = I expect you will like this too
9-10 ❤ = movies and TV shows I really love!

This series has everything. A challenging premise, great story telling, some of the best fight sequences, moments of horror, insane chemistry, humour, great ensemble cast, human stories and insightful observations about what it means to be human and who are the real monsters. I gave the first season an 8 (whole package) out of 10.

Then, the second season time warped into the present, and it looked like it had been turned into a detective thriller?! But, the writers were not asleep at their keyboards. Soon we had all the twists and turns of the first season. All the things of season 1 were there in a time warpy way. There was a tease of a third season after the ending, but it would be odd for a KDrama to continue to have multiple seasons, but, it is always a mystery what Netflix sponsored shows will be renew or abandon. I am giving the 2nd Season, and the whole series so far, an 8 (whole package) out of 10.

Excellent Season 1 and Netflix just ruined the show with Season2 ; very inconsistent writing the plot holes are everywhere and i'm guessing they are making groundwork for Season3 for big fight-off..

> The Stranger things of Joseon

It was a nice attempt by Netflix to replicate the Stranger Things formula in Japenese occupied Joseon thats nearing its independence ; so while the story brings nothing new spectacular Park Seo-jun brings his A-charm and Han Soo-hee as usual nails a character oriented cast despite the shoddy dialogues and character degradation
how they made a ferocious female lead another damsel in distress with her stupid decisions and turn a mild character as major shadow villain
As someone who can understand both japanese and korean phrases the mish-mash of both languages in conversation was a game for me to consciously recognize the languages and check the subtitles correctness.

The villains are not the great but they are nazi level craziness in their experiments and -1 for
not so happy ending ; unnecessarily killing the female lead
An overrated series that is actually quite boring and the episodes are way too long.
