I saw an interview from Claire Danes referencing the premiere episode of Season 2, which was titled "The Smile." In it, I saw a poignant exchange between Carrie and her sister Maggie regarding the fact that she will be returning to spy-related work. Carrie explains herself by saying that "Believe me, I wouldn't be going if I had a choice." In response, Maggie retorts that "You do have a choice. You always have a choice." This exchange literally embodies the inner turmoil surrounding Carrie throughout the 8 seasons of Homeland, with each season providing a new arc that shows Carrie ultimately reverting back to her most comfortable state: being in action. With this reference, I began to realize that the finale of Season 8 essentially embodied this sentiment so well. Carrie made a choice, and with that exhilarating finale, it ultimately makes complete sense why she chose that treacherous path. Back in Season 7, she made the choice to let go of Franny to pursue a greater mission. As a whole, with myself looking up interviews with cast members and the staff regarding the finale, I learned a lot of insight that helped provide context for and explain the final arc of Carrie Mathison. In the end, Homeland ended on a high note, with the groovy jazz blaring in my ears. I was bopping my head as I saw the final few frames, and all I can say is that it was a fitting end to Homeland. As Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin aptly explained in an interview with Stephen Colbert, the finale for Carrie was "conclusive-ish" and "beginning-ish." Surprisingly, these two words were the perfect descriptors anyone could have ever asked for.

Badass show! Probably the most relevant series on tv-- maybe even more relevant than CNN. Homeland needs to keep going for 10, 15, 20 seasons. It's brilliant.

So who still thinks Brody is the terrorist/bomber after season 2? ;)

You sick! You really think he could be? Come on, of course not. That's what the terrorists want you to think. ;)

Very good, on the edge of my seat wondering who is really evil.

So far this show has been a success & it has the potential to be even better then it's Showtime brother Dexter *Season 6*

But the the opening scene is probably the worst intro ever made - absolutely excruciating!
They shold've used this instead:
