During Season 02 there were some situations / episodes that showed the finite potential that a sitcom JUST fixating on the every-day-life of an American working-class-family has IMHO. 'Modern Family' shows us what a wider horizon can do to a such a family-centered sitcom because it just so much more diverse.

However, the 2nd season of The Middle is still very much fun to watch and I am going to continue with Season 3 for sure!
