First Episode was a bit slow.
Second Episode already had some payoff.
YES, there is a lot where you could say "carbon copy", but the same was true for the From Dusk till Dawn Show and I loved that.
Also nice that the show while maintaining a relatively diverse cast it doesn't cater to any political spectrum so far (except maybe being a bit critic of capitalism, but alien always was that).
Having watched the first episode, I think it started off well and strong. If you like this kind of production or series, definitely give it a try. I'll leave a comment below with my thoughts once I've watched the entire season. For now, enjoy.👍
What a thrill to finally get an Alien installment that dares to look forward without forgetting where it comes from. Alien: Earth proves you can expand the mythology with fresh ideas — echoes of corporate paranoia, identity, and science playing God — while also recovering that hum of constant threat that crawls down your spine.
Visually, it’s staggering: Wētā FX delivers more than fireworks, they give texture and world-building. Corridors sweat, helmets weigh heavy, the xenomorph’s biology (and the “new creatures”) feels organic and dangerous. The staging channels 1970s cinema (slow-burn tension, precise framing, sound that bites) and then unleashes hell when needed: the mid-season set pieces are pure industrial nightmare.
Yes, some people slam it with a “1” without even watching it. Let them. This series deserves to be read on its own terms: slow-burn rhythm, characters burdened with real dilemmas (not just gore), and an almost reverent respect for the legacy… while Hawley brings in new ideas that refresh the myth. Some thematic beats could be sharper and not every emotional punch lands, but the balance is clear: spectacle with brains, atmosphere with teeth.
I came in weary after too many damp squib sequels, and left with the hum of the ship’s fan in my head and a crooked smile.
This was a long overdue series and it's the best ever
I really liked this series. I watched the original movies and the atmosphere from the first Alien-movie is aptly reconstructed in some of the episodes especially those involving some of the things happning on the space ship and in the lab afterwards. The alien are disturbing and I was genuinely afraid of some of the scenes. I have not seen a lot of the other movies in the Alien universe but I think Noah Hawley achieves much the same he did with the Fargo series, ie. setting up a story that gives a very familiar feeling that you got with the original movies in the Alien series. I hope there will be more to come. And I definitely go in a long arc around any sheep cropping up in my vicinity for the next couple of months.
A top notch series long overdue watch
Best show of 2025 unreal!
This is a nice prequel to the Alien series, in my opinion. The first episode provides background on the struggle between two corporations, Prodigy annd Weyland Yutani, and an interesting explanation of different “synths” at the time and how they were different. It’s got some very suspenseful, exciting scenes when the space ship crashes and all the humans rush to save each other/themselves. And when the fully grown Alien is seen things get properly gory. If I have one criticism it’s that the “Lost Boys” are annoying as fuck, but then again, most kids are annoying as fuck so I guess they’re supposed to be that way. As long as they don’t focus too much on them, more on the Alien and its wrecking of everything and everyone in its sight, I’ll keep watching.
Refreshingly different but still Aliens.
Loving the pace of the show and ideas.
For me this is perfect so far, but let's see how the series plays out.
season that started solidly with three consistent 8/10 episodes, before shifting into top gear from Episode 4 onward. The last five episodes delivered peak atmosphere, strong performances, thrilling action, and clever twists, proving the series can reach true brilliance. While some logic gaps with the aliens remained a sticking point early on, the finale stretch made up for it with visual spectacle and emotional punch. A fantastic first season overall, leaving plenty of excitement for what comes next.
