This is by far my favorite incarnation of the Scooby-Doo IP. And I've seen them all. I loved the semi-serious approach and then making it a serial was just genius IMO.

I am surprised at how good this adaptation was! Connecting the storyline across episodes and then seasons made me almost binge watch the series. And I really appreciated the way they showed the strength of every member of the gang. Must watch for fans of the childhood show.

Another reboot with Seth McFarlane like animation is unnecessary when this show already was a funny reboot. The show finally made Fred interesting with him actually as the oddball of the group.
I strongly recommend watching this series on Netflix.

This was my first episode of anything Scooby Doo, and it honestly made me lose interest in the franchise right away

I expected the spotlight to be on mystery, comedy, literary themes, spooky atmosphere, cinematic thrill, following clues, and having fun solving cases. Instead, the mystery is shallow and treated like background noise. The focus is clearly on high school level romance, emotional drama, and character tension that I have no reason to care about

Some people call this "mature", but they are clearly confusing maturity with soap opera level romance, family drama and teen angst. Maturity means intelligent storytelling, thoughtful dialogue, solid plots, and meaningful ideas. This isn't that. This is drama for people who think any mention of feelings equals depth and maturity

The animation is strong. The show looks great. But writing like this makes it feel like a waste. If the first episode is supposed to hook you, this one did the opposite. I'm not sticking around for more. I'll give the earlier series in the franchise a try. maybe they'll be more in line with my interests

This is the best adaptation of Scooby Doo. It’s serialized and contains character development unlike other versions of Scooby Doo. I feel like the viewership of this adaptation is meant to be a little bit older than other versions of the franchise. It surprised me how good this show is. Highly recommended.
