It was great as season 1 but where is the rest? :face_with_monocle:
The armadillo joke was so dark and had the most perfect setup.
I'm not familiar with the comics at all, only the previous Netflix effort. Good to see they've continued spending a decent budget on not only animation, but music. I couldn't be bothered to watch this one with subs, as I'd done with the previous series, so I watched the English dub; It's good too. I don't know who voices Zero, but
James Acaster
was a nice surprise as Armadillo. Netflix isn't quite the powerhouse it used to be but this shit is great. Kudos all round.
It addresses serious and reflective topics, and even some controversial ones, but without setting too many limits, and contains those continuous cultural references that characterize the author. Although it can be a bit exhausting at times, because we only listen to Zerocalcare and his reflections, giving voice to almost all the characters, the series is at the same time funny, witty and deep in its approaches. Zerocalcare reflects life in the neighborhoods of Rome and represents people who move from honest ideals like dinosaurs, reflecting them as endangered beings.
The first episode left me quite cold, no laughs and some cringy moralistic bits. I even thought I was maybe tired of Zerocalcare. But then I had so much fun with the rest of the show and I though it was very well structured in terms of ambiguity, morality, difficult choices and stuff. So, it’s good. Also, is it just me or did they have a sensibly bigger budget? I don’t remember hearing this many needle drops in the other show.
I like the way it's narrated and the settings, but the message is pretty shallow in my opinion.
Too much leftist and anti-capitalist advertising. The previous series was much better, without trying to brainwash you with paid-for propaganda from Netflix.
