1. Best intro 2024 (I miss Zoe...)
2. Despite Kidman and the other Botox woman with no facial expression, it's enjoyable and good entertainment
Nice and despicable, rich, famous, pretentious, folks behaving badly. Good production. Good acting. Good pacing. Decent plot. Some great characters IMO and some pretty hilarious moments. Way over average, and definitely worth a watch if you liked white lotus.
It's not "good tv" but there were lots of surprisingly funny moments. Not a single likeable character and you kind of have to suspend any sense of morality/justice to be able to stomach how horrible everyone is lol. Wish they had gone closer to the book ending. The show ending is a little abrupt/unsatisfying. It probably earned about a 4 or 5 but I did unexpectedly laugh out loud a few times so they get a few extra points in my book
it's a good mini series, but the dance at the intro is very cringy tbh
Agatha Christie ordered from Temu.
A somewhat slow and drawn out series centred around a particularly objectionable family whose sole achievement, other than being rich, has been to spawn a pack of spoiled brats. The portrayal of the whole family is very plastic and shallow and the director seems to have a bizarre fixation with doing close ups of people’s eyes to absolutely zero effect. The story, simple as it is, takes ages to even get started, let alone unfold but what should I expect from a series that opens with a pretentious show of faux happiness with the entire cast of clowns line dancing on a beach! Like seriously, WTF, line dancing! Who even does that. Some good performances from Nicole Kidman (who still looks stunning), Liev Schreiber and Eve Hewson, albeit some scenes feel very over-acted, problem with having a story that could probably warrant 2-3 episodes at most stretched out to 6, a la Netflix.
Characters felt weak. Story progression was quick. I wish the central characters had more depth.
This is Netflix trying to do its White Lotus: a dream location, beautiful rich assholes characters, a star studded cast, somene dies in the first episode, some class conflict, a bit of satire, sex… there’s even Meghan Fahy! But it’s a much less effective version of White Lotus. And the dancing intro also feels like a dull way of aping other stuff.
A solid meh. It passed the time and had a few good scenes per episode but it felt like a long, live action version of Clue, The Boardgame. They did an ok job trying to make the audience suspect everyone and Nicole Kidman did a great job in that role. Michael Beach is another guy that doesn’t get the credit he deserves. Yes he’s always a cop, he’s such a strong character actor.
More like a Soapy than a murder mystery. The characters were very hollow. The police investigation was interesting, and the Cops played themselves as Dum,but far from it.
Firstly, why would you not call your Attorney? Too much arrogance perhaps? 🤔
Well done to the Police for solving the crime.
I don't know how Greer puts up with Tag, he's an asshole. :thumbsup_tone1:
Overall an interesting Murder Mystery. Reminded me of the "Doings and the Screwings of the Ewings " ... Dallas.... 🙈 😳 :thumbsup_tone1:
