Brilliant Minds (2024) - ❤x6

This is an okay medical procedural. But I feel it might be too narrow a field and the cases too obscure. This is similar to House (2004) but House dealt with a wide variety of ailments and was a LOT more fun which I feel made for better and long-term storytelling.

How I rate:
1-3 ❤ = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6 ❤ = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8 ❤ = I expect you will like this too
9-10 ❤ = movies and TV shows I really love!

The first episode didn’t grab me. I saw its potential, an ensemble around a brilliant but overly damaged, eccentric doctor, but haven’t we seen this before? HOUSE , THE GOOD DOCTOR? So, I gave it another episode for a change to stand out. It’s going to be a miracle every week drama. They have given it enough support characters that there will be lots of behind the scenes revelations. I’m just not sure I’m interested in following another bland, episodic drama, when there are so many other really good shows on my watch list. After 2 episodes I’m saying, “Adios”. I’m giving this series a 6 (standard fare) out of 10.

This show wants to be House, but it's just terribly written drivel. It goes overboard trying to be mind blowing and heart wrenching without ever getting a hook in. The dialogue is awkward and actors hung out to dry with a lot of the lines. Every character has a "thing" that's meant to make you feel sorry for them and have your heart break for them but it's so poorly introduced you just DGAF and feel the character would be better off without their pet special trait and story.

Horrible side characters. Highly unlikable MC. Zero plot. This feels like a hippie kid's version of what a psych hospital is like. Can't stand it anymore. Unbearable.

I managed to watch it until episode 8,i can't stand it any more, too woke for my taste.

This only compares to House if you're not looking for fun. Neuroscience really just used as a pretext to get weird.


2 episodes and it's a pass for me, I shouldn't have read those House comparison, got my hopes up.


If by the 5th episodes someone reads my comment and still thinks it's got House vibe, please reply to my comment and explain what I missed, I'll give it another shot and hopefully rectify... but I wouldn't bet on it.

They went for gay House but ended up with gay Grey's Anatomy.

if you liked House.. I feel it has the potential to be a similar success.
