As a person who is up to date with the comic art version, I am absolutely loving how they are sticking to the story and pacing it, not bad at all. I am feeling every bit of what I used to read and how I read it come to life, great voice actors, so happy to see the King and Tess finally, I already know its about to keep getting good I cannot wait!!!!

Like many others, I had pretty high hopes for this series. I've been hearing about the story for years, but I've never read the manga myself, so I'm not comparing it to that. IMO, the complaints about the animation for this series are extremely overblown.

The animation is about average for a modern anime series, maybe slightly above average, but nowhere near the series that this property should be competing against (i.e. Demon Slayer, Solo Leveling, Shangri-La, & (new) One Piece), but that doesn't mean it's bad. The artwork was a bit above average as well. Supposedly the story on this show is elite, which is the reason for everyone's high expectations, and based off the first season alone, this show is greatly exceeded by another popular series.

Regarding the story, it was okaaayyy....but certainly less interesting than Mushoku Tensei, which seems to me to be its primary competitor, based on the story and subject matter thus far....just without the trauma and self-loathing.

I'm very much vacillating between a 7 and an 8 for this series, but I think I will lean towards the 7 due to the pacing and just how unmemorable everything was. The flashbacks to the MC's past didn't really add anything for me, and overall that whole aspect of it was a bit disappointing. There's definitely room for growth with this series, but at this point I can only consider it good, not great.

The animation is not the best. Also, you can tell time has passed between scenes but they don't really show anything so you don't really get too attached to any character. It's easy to tell they are taking shortcuts....because they are taking A LOT of shortcuts....but I am an isekai junkie and I'm enjoying the story for what it is so I think I'll hang around for a bit to see where it lands.

I hate that this was given to Studio A-Cat, they do NOT have a good track record for producing quality shows.

The Beginning After the End could have been a genuinely compelling isekai anime. The premise has all the right ingredients: a powerful king reincarnated in a new world, a fresh start filled with magic and danger, and the slow build-up of strength and purpose. On paper, it sounds like a setup that promises both emotional depth and thrilling adventure.

But that promise quickly falls apart in execution. The animation is abysmal. Instead of dynamic scenes, viewers are treated to an endless stream of still frames with only the occasional camera pan or zoom to give the illusion of movement. It feels less like watching an anime and more like flipping through a lightly animated slideshow. That alone would be frustrating enough, but it gets worse.

The CGI monsters are poorly integrated and actively break immersion. These creatures don’t blend into the scenes. They float awkwardly, lacking any real presence. And when even the CGI is reduced to still images during fight scenes, any intended intensity completely collapses. There is no tension, no excitement, just the constant sense that corners were being cut.

What’s especially disappointing is that even without knowing the original material, it is clear that the story has potential. There are glimpses of deeper worldbuilding, character arcs that might have resonated, and themes that could have been explored. But all of it is buried beneath a production that feels rushed, cheap and visually lifeless. It’s frustrating to see an idea with so much promise reduced to such a flat and uninspired experience.

With so much buzz around this enjme adaptation, this series was devastatingly disappointing.

1. The animation was on the cheap side, season filler simple and low budgeted animation

2. The story felt stretched at the wrong areas. The part of the story could be streatched and explored for further drama weren't done.

3. The story has a dark tone to it, but the anime has kight tone.

In short, it's disappointing.

I read the first two book, so I started watching to see how it was adapted. And while they follow the story, I just feel so bored. It progresses very slowly. And the obvious low budget does not help at all. There are so many reused shots, and many scenes feel more like watching a slideshow than anime. Not sure if it's worth it to watch further.

A cheesy anime like Kanpekisejio has better animation and sound design than TBATE

Disappointed with the anime. They cut a lot of dialogues and character development. The animation is bad too (slideshows with CGI). After episode 2, I'm thinking of skipping the rest. The anime ended for me, after its beginning.

I was looking forward to this as I have been reading the Manwha since the beginning, I am however very disappointed by the animation from what I have seen so far (2 episodes). It feels very lazily animated sadly.
