Produced by Stephen Spielberg, _Falling Skies_ is an exciting post-apocalyptic sci-fi series from TNT. Season 1 follows a ragtag militia that’s attempting to fight an occupying alien force in the wake of Earth’s defeat. Starring Noah Wyle, Moon Bloodgood, Will Patton, Sarah Carter, and Jessy Schram, the show has a pretty good cast. And, setting the series post-alien invasion, where all of Earth’s military and governments have fallen, is an interesting concept and allows for some unique storytelling opportunities. Also, the creature designs and alien tech are really well-done; especially for a cable television budget. Full of thrilling and intrigue, _Falling Skies_ delivers a strong first season.

Since it is neither extremely awful nor exceptionell good I'd say "fair" is a fitting assessment.

I see the potential this has and I hope they don't throw it away. My concern still lies with the fact that the teenagers are at the center of the story. I can't put a finger on it though. And of course you are reminded of the series _V_.

It looks a bit dated when it comes to CGI and SFX but it seemed to be low budget even in 2011. Just an observation.

The plot can be a bit predictable at times and there is a little bit too much of a history lesson going on which only speaks to the american audience mostly. Charcaters are OK, after all we only had 10 episodes to introduce them and the plot, which isn't much.

As I said I see the potential and I hope we'll get a little bit more of an idea as to the motives of the aliens. On the DVD specials was the Comic Con panel where someone asks if Earth is but a sideline of a much larger scale and I find that idea intriguing. All in due time.
