The acting is just superb!
At first I was a bit sceptical about this not being spoken in English, but in the end you realize its just a stupid preconception, 'cause this is tottaly ninja. Highly recommended :)

Excelente desarrollo de la serie. Esperaba que siguiera. No mereció ese final. Pero valió sin duda la pena.

Borgen is a remarkable, unique Danish television show that may have established it’s own genre. Every other TV show to focus on politics that I have ever seen has added elements of fantasy; normally these shows and movies are “political thrillers” where someone always dies; occasionally they’re comedies. Either way, there is a balance between realism (in some cases) and concessions to entertainment. Borgen is not one of those shows. Borgen is very much like the most realistic fictional TV show ever made about national government politics.

There are no murders/deaths and the scandals are real political scandals – this politician overspent, that one had an affair, that one has minor secrets in his past. It’s both a blessing and a curse, because Borgen is not exactly entertaining in the traditional sense.

And, for me, this is where its biggest flaw comes in. In order to add entertainment, we get soapy personal relationships. The balance is pretty reasonable in the first two seasons, but in season 3 things go off the rails a bit and, frankly, I had a really hard time caring about Torben’s marital woes.

But I think most of us can overlook this flaw for most if not all of the show, a show that is otherwise extremely remarkable and daring in its commitment to telling a story entirely based in a recognizable reality that matches our own.

[Netflix] The value of a series that deals with the ins and outs of the system of political alliances in the Danish parliament is knowing how to mix high politics with the personal sacrifices that power provokes. And while it may have lost some of its effectiveness (because other notable dramas have subsequently been made on the subject), it remains one of the more intelligent forays into how ideals become corrupted when they cling to power.

This should be as dull as dirt, but it was anything but. The script is intelligent, the relationships interesting and the drama inviting. Sidse Babett Knudsen Is extremely talented and winsome, playing the central character but it quickly becomes an ensemble piece because of the great performances and well defined characters. I gave it a high 7 (very good) from the start but I found I could hardly wait for the next episode so my final rating is an enthusiast 8 (great). For those curious about the name, Borgen means “the Castle,” a nickname for Christiansborg Palace, which is the house of Denmark’s three powers: Parliament, the Prime Minister’s Office and the Supreme Court. Basically, it’s where most of the show’s drama unfolds. [Political Drama] NOTE: Don’t watch this dubbed into English but watch it in Danish with English subtitles. The acting is worthy of not being watered down.
