Aside from season 6, which sucks so hard it should undo the reality of its existence, the series is surprisingly entertaining with occasional lapses into brilliance.

It actually holds together pretty well with one exception. Duncan MacLeod would have been cool then - but comes off now as incredibly wooden and just a bad actor
If you can ignore that, the dodgy special effects and have a fascination with sword fighting, you should watch this. I don't know how popular it was, but I think it would have been pretty good...and for those with patience it is probably worth trying.
But too much of the wooden acting, a time shortage and a similarity in stories lines mean s I haven't watched every episode, but in 10 years time will wonder why I didn't
