Never heard of this one. It's a hidden gem. Great story. Some stuff doesn't make sense but if you forgive some inconsistency it's one of the best historical fiction anime.

Season 1 (2012) was trash with precarious animation, It improved a bit in Season 2 (2013), I don't know if due to budget or because of trying to innovate, but it was undoubtedly the negative point.
Season 3 (2020) onwards it already has a more standard animation but there were certain changes in some characters, nothing serious, it was an unpolished gem.
