Ripper Street

Hits right balance of character development and just plain creepy storylines. Highly recommend.

first time i didn't like it, too long, too english, too similar to Copper. But I kept watching this series and I'm glad I did.
The last few episodes of the season reveal a depth greater.

The first two seasons were great, the rest are okay.
The main characters are good and it has some good and very dislikeable baddies.
Overall it's a good show that has decent stories, some of which even feature real historical people.
What I wasn't particularly keen on was the inclusion of "modern" investigation techniques.

Renewed for a third season.
