Wow, this show is just the pits

The. Best. Show. Ever. Made.

Put simply, one of the finest TV shows ever made, up there with _The Wire_ and _Breaking Bad_. The Leftovers is far more than its mystery, it's about its characters and how they react to this new world and the changes brought before them. It's not about delving into ideas of why the event happened, it's about people that were already broken before it, and how disaster brought that into the light. I don't want to get too much into what makes the show great, because that would be spoiling it. You just need to know that if you want to go into _The Leftovers_ hoping to have a _Lost_ style mystery, in the hopes that everything will be revealed in time, then you should probably alter your expectations or watch _Lost_ again. This is about the people, and that's what makes it truly great.

_The Leftovers_ will make you laugh, it will make you cry (oh boy, will it make you cry) and it will make you happy that someone even attempted to make a show so bold, ambitious and complete, that you will never forget. It was criminally underwatched when it was airing, but now you can watch the whole thing. Do yourself a favour and watch every minute of this masterpiece.

To those on the fence, and those who have given up hope. This show has many lessons for you. It takes patience, but pays in dividends.

One of the best shows I've ever seen! It's completely different from everything else I've watched, hard to describe. You might need to give it some time to get into it. Especially season 2 and 3 are outstanding. And the soundtrack, amazing!

Best show and best soundtrack ever.

This must be one of the most intense and intriguing series I have ever watched. Season 1 punches you in the face emotionally with the portrayal of the loses that the 98% leftovers feel in the wake of the departed. And the remaining two seasons tells a very intriguing story that is nicely wrapped up in season 3. There are many unanswered questions but that is true of many great novels and this is what The Leftovers is most easily compared to. The acting is wonderful with Justin Theroux and Carrie Coon easily taking the prize for the most compelling acting. Its just a completely wonderful series.
