wow what a suspenseful six hours that were! BBC can't do no wrong LITERALLY.
Dark, intense, riveting and so scary but totally worth it. I was literally so edgy the whole time of watching it and thats how utterly GOOD it was.

This show is fantastic up there with very best that has ever produced WATCH IT you won't be disappointed PS it's obviously aimed at an adult audience not family friendly dispute show title ..

Outstanding British drama. Recently watched both seasons and I really hope there will another. Perfectly delivered, I loved it.

The writing and performances in this series are unrivaled. This is Sally Wainwright at her best, on her own turf, capturing characters that she knows so well. i watched the first season (in the UK called a series) when it first came out and wasn't at all surprised when it won a BAFTA for Best Drama Series. The excellence of the ensemble cast, lead by Sarah Lancashire, was also duly recognized. The character portrayed by Siobhan Finneran was unrecognizable from her character in DOWNTON ABBEY, as was James Norton from his lead role in GRANTCHESTER. This series is a don't miss, and I was so excited to rewatch the first two seasons again before the third and final season was finally released, 7 years after the first two. It was a viewing delight. This series has been a solid 10 (excellent) out of 10 from the very beginning. [Crime Drama}

I watched this belatedly despite many recommendations.

The performances (especially Sarah Lancashire) are all top notch as is the script, the direction and everthing else.

This series is dark, funny, brutal and so very human. You go from laughter to shock to tears in one episode. The entire series is truly a tour de force. Episode 3 in paticular is really brutal and harrowing, but even though later epsiodes aren't as graphic they still leave you shocked and hollow. Even the resolution, whilst it may bring tears, still leaves you under no illusions that these people are now broken.

Many people wouldn't expect me to get so involved in a series. This did it though. I was shocked and appalled at the inhumanity and yet moved to tears when the warmth and humanity shone through.

This was a joy to watch, laugh, cry and endure.
