Modus

During a snowy Christmas season in Sweden, psychologist and profiler Inger Johanne Vik finds not only herself but also her autistic daughter drawn into the investigation of a number of disturbing deaths, through which she meets detective Ingvar Nyman of “Rikskrim,” a Swedish national police force.
Nordic Noir is usually a favorite of mine. That wasn't the case with "Modus", it was a dud. Lacked the usual total-engagement of the genre. "Modus" has lots of ‘scene-setting dialogue’ that winds up being there just for the heck of it, as it isn’t actually setting anything up. The villain guy spends a lot of time practicing his long evil gaze as the plot flounders on. Nordic Noir isn't often as lackluster and predictable as "Modus".
