Versailles

just finished season one and WOW, just wow. sometimes slow pace, specially at the beginning, but it gets better every episode. the main cast is amazing and the acting is on point. also ended with a great cliffhanger. 10/10
UPDATE: season 2 is even better than season 1. much more fascinating and way way gayer. i loved it! another 10/10
UPDATE 2.0: season 3 is also amazing ?? makes me so sad that its over, but im so glad to have known it

the third season was better than the rest in every way, just put whoever did this in charge of the whole thing next time

I binged this entire show way faster than I should've. I put this on while I would work, and it was a good choice because I could walk away from this show for ten minutes, come back, and not miss a single thing. I could have probably even skipped a whole episode and not even realize it. It's slow, it's boring, and it's dumb. But man if it ain't pretty to look at. The production design and costume design are off the CHARTS. I love Versailles and it was super cool to see this shot on the actual location. Plot-wise though, it's severely lacking. After the first season, they throw history books out the window. Even during the first season, characters make choices and decisions that aren't backed by anything, like the writers just made them do or say something to get a little excitement going. "But why did you binge all three seasons if it's so bad--" Ssshhhh. Let me live with my poor decisions.

Liked the drama and im guessing somewhat realism to history but like in the first couple eps was the gay brother forcing himself on his wife to make a kid bc he was mad at his brother really necessary? i coulda gone without knowing all that or seeing the beginning of it
