I love this show, it features so many aspects, stories and problems not only of the daily life of people living with autism but of everyone in such a rich and lovely way you gotta love it.
It is hard to describe this show and all its facets so I will refrain from doing it. It is just a clear recommendation from my side to everyone who hasn't watched it yet.
Just AMAZING. A must watch show that you can easily watch in one go. A show that takes a very serious subject and let's you take a look inside the mind of a autistic teenage boy who wants to get a girlfriend. Beautifully filmed, great cast and very lovable characters with a good and well balanced dose of humor.
Without a doubt, one of the best shows I've ever watched! It's just so heartwarming, and nice!
It also feels real taking emotions to a whole other level!
THIS SHOW IT'S JUST INCREDIBLE. It has so many good things about it that it is imposibile to not like it
This show was a very unexpected pleasure to watch, and it touched me deeply.
But maybe I'm not the usual viewer. I have struggled in my life with some (very) mild Asberger's tendencies that while nowhere near severe enough to land me with a clinical diagnosis, have made my life kind of hard at times and left me none the less feeling quite separated from "normal" people.
'Atypical' completely stunned me in a way that I strongly identified with. It brought many smiles to my face as it's quite witty throughout. But it also shows that although different, people with ASD do have hearts, and are very much human and deserve to be understood for who they are.
So thanks to the makers of this show. It has had a profound and personal impact on me. I really hope we see another season next year!
Even if the show came across as cringey at points I'm really glad of the representation here. As someone who had autism themselves I felt like I could relate to a lot of what Sam went through. I couldn't relate to it all but everyone on the spectrum displays things differently but Sam was definitely a great main character and the actor portrayed him well. I can't wait to see what the fourth and final season brings as a conclusion.
Such a cute show! Super funny and the plot of the main character as well as the subplots involving the supporting characters are very engaging. It has a good mix of light-hearted and emotional moments, which makes it neither cheesy or too sad. I usually finish the whole season the day it comes out.
I wish Casey was the main character
One of those hidden gems from Netflix that everyone could and should watch!!
