**More of the Alfred Pennyworth we all know and love**
This TV Show surprised me as it shows Pennyworth of how he starts to deal with the Waynes and he previous life in the SAS before. I highly recommend this so far so good and it has got me hooked straight away hoping for more to come as I was so disappointed when Gotham ended.

Maybe the fiction that evokes the dark spirits of contemporary Britain best. The storytelling can wonder at times, but it's an entertaining, punchy tale with some endearing characters.

I wasn't expecting much from this but ended up really enjoying it, it was extremely dark but funny at the same time, how some people have said that it wasn't realistic baffles me ,do they actually think that Batman etc are actually real ?

(Initial Impression) This looks promising. This is the backstory of Albert, the Wayne's butler, which it seems is all action and adventure (with a touch of romance). By and large, the actors are unknown to me but they do a marvellous job. Alfred and Esme have great chemistry. Poloma Faith is a menacing henchwoman. Great writing. Great performances. A very different feel to the other DC Universe series which may have to do with the British cast, period setting and locations. All together, a great start. Upon watching this pilot, I give the series an 8 (great) out of 10. I'm looking forward to the rest of this first season which is being released episodically. [Comic Book Backstory]

(End of First Season Impression) I really looked forward to each episode. It is very dark, violent and not shy with sexual content (which I could have done without) but it was well made, well performed and although the writing was over the top, flying away from the credible, the characters were well drawn and full. I raised my rating to 8.5 (really great) out of 10. Here's hoping for a second season. [Comic Book Backstory]

I would argue that this series might have been better than Gotham - which is not a lightly given compliment on my part! I LOVED this series and I would have been even further enthralled had they been able to continue to develop tie-ins within the DC universe, to expand on the characters, their relationships and grown the lore.
I was completely sucked into the low-brow humour and I truly believe that had this show been given another season, the storyline (as it's not quite aligned with the most popular and main DC/Batman universe) may have been able to merge itself into a more familiar plot.

I totally loved the show. And I don't care about how "realistically" it connected to the rest of DC universe and Batman. For me the show stands on it's own. It's a perfect comic book but told in the language of film -- the characters and the plot are over the top, it's all told with straight face in the mixture of British and Irish slang with that dark "British humor" and stylish cinematography. To me it feels a bit like Doctor Who. Not the story, but this strange world that is built there.
Unfortunately the show is cancelled. So, I guess I'm minority.

Rather like it so far, however no decently bred young lady from the period would "F" and blind. Politicly its pure left wing propaganda.
