Loved it. Ben mendolson is Emmy worthy for acting. I think he was nominated for an Emmy. Surrounded by great storyline and superb actors.

Half way through and totally in love with this show. It’s binge worthy! I really don’t want to turn off my TV and go to bed.

I’m a huge Stephen King fan, his works are pure genius and so intriguing how they all overlap and are untangled with each other.

It was the 80’s when I got my first taste of his intricate tales, but unfortunately tv/films back then, really didn’t show them to their true potential. Except for rare exceptions such as The Shawshank Redemption.

Now, these stories are being brought to life properly, which for me is so exciting.

The Outsider is phenomenal, great cast, production etc. It’s taking its time, as it should and slowly building up with excellent intrigue, drawing you in so you are so involved. Despite the slow pace, it’s incredibly intense too.

I’ve not yet rated this, until I get to the end...but, if it continues to deliver, it will be a well deserved full marks from me.

Absolutely truly captivating!

I usually avoid Stephen King adaptations. This is one of the better ones. The cast were great, the soundtrack was absolutely amazing, and the finale was satisfying.

It could be argued that this adaptation could have been done in a shorter amount of time. If this resonants with you then you like pop tarts instead of a hand made turnover.

You will either love or hate it. I love it, smoldering with a stellar cast perfectly chosen. Folklore horror is so often done bad, not in this case. Stephen King must be pleased.

Some series hook you from the very first episode, and The Outsider is definitely one of them. With that unmistakable Stephen King stamp, it pulls us into an unsettling story filled with mystery, told at a slow but solid pace. There are no cheap scares or random twists here — everything seeps in gradually, like a nightmare that settles in and refuses to let go. And that, in a miniseries, is quite an achievement.

The atmosphere is meticulously crafted, with a constant darkness that you don’t just see — you feel it. The characters are well written, especially Ben Mendelsohn’s, who carries the show with ease and subtlety. Cynthia Erivo, meanwhile, brings in a different energy that bridges the realism with the unexplainable. The blend of crime thriller and supernatural works far better than it might sound on paper.

Are there ups and downs? Of course. Some episodes take their time, and a few subplots lose a bit of steam. But even in its slower moments, The Outsider knows how to hold your attention. The story stays consistent, the tension builds smartly, and the emotional depth of certain characters adds unexpected weight.

This is one of those adaptations that doesn’t just follow the book — it expands it, reinterprets it, and makes it shine in a new format. HBO has given it the quality and rhythm it needed, without being afraid to take its own weirdness seriously. And that makes it well worth watching.

Good show, acting, characters, writing, etc. I would recommend it however is slow as shit. Would work better in a 6 episode format.

They did a terrible job casting and writing for the Holly Gibney character. She's my favorite character from the books, but none of what makes her special in the books comes through.
