Upload S4 — Season 4

In the four-part series finale event, sentient AI rapidly turns evil, threatening to wipe out Lakeview (and the world!). On top of greedy executives, lingering mysteries, plus heartbreak in VR and IRL, our characters are tested like never before. The only way they can get through it all and save humanity from deletion is by teaming up one last time.

You can tell that they wanted to finish and close the series as fast as possible. Still, I didnt dislike the ending, just the feeling that some storylines could have been delivered better. In this day and age we should celebrate a tv show getting a proper ending even if is rushed.

At only 4 episodes (from what I’ve read, it seems it was lucky to get any) the show is over before you know it. So much happens and the story is over so quickly compared to normal shows. I had no idea that it was only 4 episodes when I started season 4 (I figured the rest would be released later) so it was even more strange. I feel like they should make it more clear in the shows information on Prime so that people understand the pacing while watching it.

This season seemed like they upped the silliness and also included a lot of more current ideas on AI and tech like self driving cars. I guess that some of the sillier elements were meant to be topical jokes.

I have never found the show to be amazing, it was just a light comedy with some likeable characters. If anything it kind of felt like a cheap version of The Good Place — very different premise but many of the moving parts were similar.

While I didn’t hate any of the characters or performances, the women were generally more appealing although Owen Daniel’s probably had the most fun role to play and was the source of many of the genuine laughs.

Upload is a show with too many flaws for the story to be the draw card. Even the tech the show is based on seems clunky and inconsistent in its futuristic scope. When season 1 was released big clunky goggles seemed like reasonable hardware for virtual reality but now it seems quite outdated — that’s one of the problems with creating a show using themes that are being updated rapidly in real life and it probably made Daniel’s apparent 4 season story a good idea if still a bit too long. That robot vacuum would have seemed more and more outdated as the show continued.

Anyways, it wasn’t bad, I didn’t love the way it ended but 4 episodes to conclude the story was better than none.

A rather short and disappointing season unfortunately.

Terrible! One of those awful seasons that really make you appreciate the previous writing. I do love what happens to Alicia though

I wish every halfway-decent show could get a send-off. This show is really silly - possibly more so this season - and I probably preferred this short batch of episodes more than the second and third seasons. Gave me a few laughs and a
happy ending.
No complaints.
