What in the world did Tully do? 🤔 Season 2 is definitely happening!

This is such a great emotional roller coaster of a journey about the best friendhood of two woman in the live news journalism world who have been best friends for 30 years. The timeline can be a bit tough to follow but the story is not so complex so the way it is filmed where the plot jumps all around the timeline of 30 years is brilliant and keeps the audience on their toes. But the brilliance of that is the way a current plot point and past plot point get tied together perfectly as the story goes on. Not sure if this show had planned to do more seasons, as the ending; more so the second half of the 2nd season, was a bit rushed with huge plot twists.

This was basically just a chick flick that had some decent and serious moments in it. I wanted to enjoy the story more than I did but I was left confused by the constant flashbacks and jumping about in timelines as to where we actually wee in the story. This could have been much better had it been more cleverly thought out.

Firefly Lane was a mixed bag of emotions really. It had it's moments and I did enjoy a good portion (more so season 1 I would say) but it was one of those shoes where the two women leads just aren't very nice people. They make awful decisions, are horrible people and treat people awfully just for personal gain.

But there were some heartwarming and fun episodes and interactions also which made it worth a watch until the end. I felt like if they slowed down and didn't make it so something had to be happening ALL the time it wouldn't have felt so chaotic and non stop it was very exhausting. The ending was certainly emotional though and also heartwarming and it did wrap things up nicely.

I'm sure a lot of people can relate to a lot of things in Firefly Lane which is why it had so much potential and while it definitely has its flaws it's definitely worth a watch I think

In the second part of season 2, the writers completely lost it, the show is full of shit.
For example, in episode 13 this happens:
adult Mara gets married.
young Kate loses her virginity.
young Lisa-Karen got struck by lightning while taking the trash.
adult Kate cheats on her fiancée, Johny pushes and crushes one testicle of Kate's fiancée Theo which breaks up the engagement after he caught her cheating.
Johny says "I love you, marry me" and Kate accepts a few hours after she cheated on her ex-fiancee.
old Tully and Kate have an argument at Kate's surprise party.
young Cloud yells at Tully's co-workers, making them sheep.
old Cloud has words of wisdom for young Mara.

This could have been so much better. The premise will have appeal for anyone who has had a best friend through the many decades of their life. I’m not sure if it was bad directing or just poor acting, but this series really needed to breath. There were no pauses in the dialogue to allow for genuine emotions. I think young Tully was horribly miscast while Roan Curtis rescues some of their scenes together. The misdirections that were suppose to bring suspense to the series were ill conceived and fraught with incongruities. Basically, it’s just a fair series, so, I give this series a 6 (fair) out of 10. I abandoned it midway. It's just an alright show. It doesnt go that deep, and the several timelines are not handled that well.
Something that got on my nerves is that they have the 43 y/o actresses playing the 22 and 18 year olds, like that is a BIG leap. And it's not like they didn't have the 15 y/o girls who anyway looked older. I just couldn't buy it.

This is basically a chick-flick stretched over 10 episodes and just as you're thinking things are wrapping up nicely in the last episode... there's going to be another season!! How can they possibly drag this out any longer?!!

It's not a bad series, but it's not terrific either - probably about equal or better than the usual drivel seen on the big networks during prime time. I will watch season 2, but with reservations. The wife kinda liked it.
7/10

Did not think I would be interested at first but after a few episodes I loved it. I love the mix across the different timelines, it kept me wanting to know more! I understand why there won't be a 3rd season but wish there was
