this show is a masterfully acted, well-written, good intentioned nightmare snowball into a catastrophe.

It's a compelling series that deals with an issue that is common throughout the world. I will not comment on the issue of immigration, since it provokes reactions that can wildly vary. This series deals with the issue delicately, giving it the nuance and complexity that it deserves. It beautifully illustrates the different people that all somehow connect in this particular immigration detention center, helping to build up a cohesive story that helps to illustrate and establish the underlying circumstances that led to all characters being who they are. Furthermore, the performances from all the acting cast were amazing, with Yvonne deserving immense praise for her portrayal of an Australian citizen being mistaken as illegal. It was an impeccable effort from everyone in this production. It may not change minds regarding the issue of immigration, but it surely provides an intimate portrait that anyone can enjoy.

[Netflix] An interesting approach to the hypocrisy of immigration detention centers. And to the terrifying asylum policy practiced by Western governments. It benefits from a cast featuring famous names, but in which lesser-known actors stand out. The good intentions are, however, clouded by the need for redemption of the main characters, a script decision that tries to give a happy ending to a story that in reality does not have it.
