In the cutthroat world of international finance, a group of young graduates compete for a limited set of permanent positions at a top investment bank in London. The boundaries between colleague, friend, lover, and enemy soon blur as they immerse themselves in a company culture defined as much by sex, drugs and ego as it is by deals and dividends.

What a beast of a show. Ruthless, twisted, so comfortable in the gray areas. Season 1 barely does justice to the top shelf drama they delivered across 2 and 3. Characters like those don't come up often.

Really enjoying this show. The characters are well-developed as are the storylines in my opinion. Waiting with bated breath for Season 03!

Not a great show. Just drags on. A lot of time waste scenes. A lot of talking. Terrible casting. Bad acting. Some exciting moments. If it wasn’t COVID, I wouldn’t even watch this show. If you need something to pass your time while stuck at home, watch it. BBC has lost it’s edge, recently a lot of garbage is released. And HBO Max picks up too much garbage lately.

Updating my rating and review. Season 2 is much better. It’s lot more focused and crisp writing. Maybe they got a new writer staff.

[HBO Max] Kind of like an older version of the protagonists of "Skins", the characters are young would-be villains, primed between privilege to manipulate and betray their peers. Resolving some weaknesses of S1, season 2 is less financial and more personal, focusing on families as a reflection of personalities and wryly addressing comparisons with "Succession", focusing the transformation of post-pandemic society.

Well acted, but didn't really go anywhere. Felt little sympathy for any of them so why did I watch it. The characters and the insular financial milieu, I suppose. 6/10...only watch if you been there, or are curious about this kind of world.

I think this is the wall street/stick broker/finance people equivalent to law n order but there's too much shit I don't understand and not enough plot to balance it for me. Not saying it's bad I just don't get it.

I watched every episode trough 9/14/22 but removed my watch history of it so it won't pop up on my trakt again since I finally gave up on it getting better or more interesting.

This show is not only watchable, it has the potential to be addictive. It revolves around basic human desires, values, and complexities. The plot is good and expanding. The script is well-written, as expected from HBO. Whether it will evolve to be a great show remains to be seen. To those who were disappointed by the first impression they got from the show, remember that until season 4 of The Wire it was widely considered a flop. Look what evolved to be today. Give it a shot and be patient.
