I have to say that I really love the narrating, I mean it's unique. If I wanted to have only the facts I can read the Wikipedia Article, or there are other ways.
Fun watch and learn something new about the movies we love win win my ninjas
Maybe not all films are those that "made me", but many of them are indeed classics that will be remembered for years. An interesting idea, to go back behind the scenes of their production.
I am a sucker for Behind-the-scenes and Making-of stuff. I always watch the extras on any film I watch. This docu seemed like a natural fit for me. I can't blame it for only having two movies in it I like (never saw _Dirty Dancing_ and always disliked _Home Alone_). What I do blame it for is the comedic narration. That really didn't fit well. Informational content it as good as it gets.
Supplement for season 2:
Everything I wrote about the first season holds true for the second also. Shame, because the stories itself are actually really interesting.
Like the others haver said, the presentation is shallow, dumbed down and clickbaity but the movies themselves (and their stories) still hold up and offer some good watching.
This could have been a good series, but the narration is beyond annoying and very distracting. Does anybody really like «funny» narration like this? I sure as hell don't. It's exhausting.
Why did they think they needed commentary? It single handedly destroyed the whole show. There was barely any information coming out of any of the cast or crew. Not just that, but it was clearly edited by a 5 year old with an attention span of 2 seconds. 'The movies that made us' gave me nothing but a head ache. The movies were great classics, but I don't understand the choices. All I know is there was a whole lot of horror. All my stars go to the people who committed time for this and some of the behind the scenes. Other than that, it's a complete miss. Just watch a YouTube video.
Need to add tim burtons nightmare before Christmas and elf to the list. I believe they should b season 3. Was a good show to me. I actually enjoyed it. Loved the stories behind the movies.
Why are there 2 more episodes on Netflix than are listed on here??
An interesting watch, I love bts stuff but the narration and editing are anxiety inducing.
